" I dreamt that we were having an English lesson. Miss —— was taking us and we came across the word legs. We were such dunces that we did not know what legs meant so Miss —— showed us her legs. I was sitting next to Lucy —— and we started to laugh. Then Miss —— told us not to be so rude."
Source & context
Printed blank names are preserved; no identities inferred. Kimmins compiled anonymous historical child reports. The youngest reports were mostly individually told to head mistresses, with a few seven-year-old written accounts; this source does not identify the recording route for each example. Kimmins admits memory gaps, filling in, omissions, fusion with waking material and secondary elaboration. Ages and historical school descriptions are source labels, not modern diagnoses or proof of authenticity. The compiler acknowledges secondary elaboration and fusion with waking material; this is not an independently authenticated untouched child-written log.
