How a synastry comparison works
What is a synastry chart?
Synastry compares two birth charts. An aspect links a planet in one chart to a planet in the other, offering a symbolic way to explore themes such as communication, affection or differing needs. It is different from a composite chart, which combines two charts into a separate midpoint chart.
Which birth details do I need?
Choose My own birth details and enter a birth date, recorded time and matching birthplace for each person. The public-figure option lets you explore two sourced profiles instead. Share someone’s personal birth information only with their permission; these temporary comparisons are not added to an account.
How do I read the contacts?
With supported birth times, select placements on the comparison wheel and read the contacts between the two charts. Notice the planets involved, the aspect and its orb—the distance from the exact aspect angle. Read a contact alongside the wider chart rather than treating one harmonious or difficult aspect as the whole relationship.
What if a public figure’s birth time is unknown?
The comparison distinguishes contacts that hold across sampled birth-time ranges from contacts that are only possible. Unknown-time profiles do not supply a guessed rising sign or houses. Neither an aspect nor a compatibility summary proves that two people should date, stay together or separate.
