Degrees and orbs
A zodiac degree is an address. An orb is the distance between an actual planet-to-planet angle and an exact aspect angle.
The idea in context
Each zodiac sign spans 30°, numbered from 0° through 29°. Each degree contains 60 arcminutes (′). The exact 0°–360° longitude drives the angular geometry used to detect aspects and their orbs; a degree is a position, not a strength score.
MAKE IT CONCRETE
An example to picture
If two planets are 93° apart, their distance from a square's 90° is a 3° orb.
How to read it
Read the sign and degree first, then the aspect name and displayed orb; compare contacts using the same orb rules.
A common misunderstanding
A planet at 29° is not automatically stronger than one at 2°, and a wider orb is not a higher score.
BRING IT BACK TO YOUR LIFE
A question to sit with
Does the exact angle clarify which connection you are actually reading?

Orb
An orb is the distance from an aspect’s exact angle. A smaller orb means the calculated geometry is closer to exact; it does not make either planet objectively stronger.
App policy
Each supported aspect has a disclosed maximum orb. The chart detects only relationships that fall within that bounded policy.
See the aspect in context
An aspect can connect two natal placements, a current planet with a natal placement, or placements from two people’s charts. Choose the corresponding tool and keep those contexts distinct as you read the aspect and its orb.

Planets, signs, houses, and aspects
A natal reading combines several calculated layers instead of treating any one placement as a complete personality verdict.
1 min readWhat a house is
Houses are 12 time- and location-dependent chart sectors bounded by calculated cusps. A planet’s house identifies the symbolic life area where astrological tradition considers that planet’s themes; it is not another zodiac sign.

A Draconic chart rotates the zodiac reference so the selected natal North Node is at 0° Aries. It is a different frame for the same birth moment, not a separate set of planetary positions.
