Ninth observation. A light surrounded by red paper is passed before my eyes several times in succession. I dream of a thunderstorm and lightning, and the entire memory of a violent storm I experienced on the Channel while going from Morlaix to Le Havre supplies the material of my dream.

Named historical author’s own recalled sleep-dream; not a modern community submission or invented scene. One of Maury’s own numbered recalled sleep-dream observations, introduced on pp. 125–126. The reported stimulus and dream are retained as historical narrative, not an independently verified causal or clinical finding.
