Survey and Dream Reports of Visitors to an Online Dating Website (N=1,035) (2022) · Dream Reports.pdf, PDF page 34, Reference ID 6878960

In my dream, my friend [MALE] and I were walking along a beach, arm-in-arm, with his dog, [DOG]. The water was cool, lapping at our toes. The sunrise over the lake was incredible, the sky streaked with pinks, and tinges of yellow. We tossed a stick for [DOG] to chase and pick up, which he happily did, over and over. [MALE] suddenly stopped and took me securely in his arms, looked into my eyes (which he really likes to do) and asked me, "are you happy?" I told him, "deliriously so, darling", at which point he kissed me tenderly, got down on one knee and said I make him so happy and he doesn't want to live one more day without knowing I will always be in his life. Then he asked me if I would marry him. Taking his face in my hands, I looked into his eyes and told him I wouldn't have it any other way, and yes, I would be delighted and honored to be his wife and be by his side for the rest of our lives. As we kissed tenderly, [DOG] came up and tucked his nose up under our chins, as if he were giving his blessing to us. This is the most vivid section of the dream. Following that, there were brief scenes of the typical wedding planning details: choosing bouquets at my favorite florist, selecting [DETAILS] in the wedding, finding the perfect gown, walking down the aisle with [MALE]'s eyes locked on mine, hearing the minister pronounce us husband and wife. The last thing I recall is having our photos taken on the same beach he proposed, [DOG] sitting patiently in front of us, looking very happy. I woke up easily and with a very large smile on my face.
