I was in my mother's car with my mom driving and my daughter in the back. We were at an intersection close to my mom's house. I noticed a cop car 2 cars back and realized I was not wearing my seatbelt. I tried to slyly put it on, but my mom said, "He definitely saw that." And the cop's lights went on. When we turned right at the light, the house was only a few houses down, and we almost immediately pulled into the driveway of my mom's house. We all got out and went inside, trying to be oblivious to any possible attention from an officer, but no lights were visible. A short time after going into mom's house, I came out of the house which was now a downtown brick building. I saw a ticket on my mom's car windshield (in her own handwriting). I felt guilty for not having accepted responsibility for the infraction and stood there for some time trying to figure out how I was going to pay for her ticket *and* the increase of her auto insurance rates for the next 3 years.
