Nella giornata di ieri avevo deciso di tornare a [PLACE1] in macchina, cioè a [PLACE2] e [PLACE1], invece di rimanere a dormire qui, e la mattina successiva me ne pentivo amaramente perché voleva dire rifarsi altre tre ore di macchina per venire qui, e quindi dicevo: "Ma come mai non sono rimasto a dormire lì?".

Source researchers verified transcripts, redacted identifying names/places, pruned commentary and false starts/repetitions, normalized punctuation/spelling/regionalisms and spelled out numbers. No local prose edits, translation, trimming or new redaction; all released whitespace and [NAME]/[PLACE]/[INSTITUTION]/[MISS] markers retained.
