Ero nell'America profonda, rurale, partecipavo a una rissa, e picchiavo con un bastone, una catena. In modo particolare, picchiavo uno che era molto grosso nella rissa fra due bande. E c'era questo qua che era molto grosso, e io picchiavo con questo bastone da tutte le parti mentre uno lo teneva, tra l'altro, e non accusava nulla di tutti i colpi che prendeva. E anzi io ero stravolto dalla stanchezza più di lui che prendeva i colpi. E poi a un certo punto è svenuto, la cosa è finita lì. Però, dopo un po' nello stesso ambiente, si sono ritrovati questi due gruppi di persone. E questa persona che io picchiavo, violentemente con bastone, con le catene, era assolutamente privo di qualsiasi tipo di segno. Eravamo tutti tranquilli a bere insieme.

Source researchers verified transcripts, redacted identifying names/places, pruned commentary and false starts/repetitions, normalized punctuation/spelling/regionalisms and spelled out numbers. No local prose edits, translation, trimming or new redaction; all released whitespace and [NAME]/[PLACE]/[INSTITUTION]/[MISS] markers retained.
