Once, for example, I had been entrusted with a report in one of the scientific societies to which I belong. I examined the documents and put off until the next day the task of arranging and writing down the ideas this first overview had suggested to me. But then, during the night, I believe in a dream that I am attending the meeting at which my report is to be read; I begin to speak. However, the name of the German author about whom I am to speak escapes me, for the obvious reason that I had been unable to decipher his signature, although I remembered that his name had been mentioned when the work was referred to me for examination. One of my colleagues—I am still dreaming—whispers it in my ear.
