A. Kaufmann erzählt mir dass er heut Nachts von mir folgendes geträumt: „Ich bin mit Ihnen in einer Sommerfrische, Sie wollen mir Ihr neues Stück vorspielen lassen, Sie thun es, im Freien, schön, es ist amüsant, ich lache viel, es handelt sich um einen Ehemann, dessen lasterhafte Frau, und er ist immer auf den gefehlten eifersüchtig;― allmälig merk ich, es spielt sich immer mehr an mich heran ― ― Ihr Lieblingsthema ― Spiel wird zur Wirklichkeit u. s. w. ― ich bin ärgerlich und sage: das geht doch nicht, irgendwo muss man feststehn ― da stürzt der mitspielende Ehemann, brutal und schwarzbärtig auf mich und würgt mich. Ich wende mich an Sie: Was soll denn das heißen?, der ist doch nur Figur …, Sie sagen höhnisch: „Sie spielen eben auch mit ―“ Ich ersticke ― und erwache, ― die Decke überm Mund.―“
