LUNAR NODES
North and South Node: one lunar axis
The lunar nodes are opposing intersections of the Moon’s orbital plane and the ecliptic. They are calculated points, with mean and true methods.
The idea in context
The North Node and South Node are the two crossings of the Moon’s orbit with the ecliptic, the Sun’s apparent yearly path. They are calculated points, not planets, and always sit 180° apart.
MAKE IT CONCRETE
An example to picture
A North Node at 14° Taurus pairs with a South Node at 14° Scorpio. The opposition is exact by definition rather than an aspect found by chance.
How to read it
Keep the node method, zodiac frame and house system visible when comparing two calculations or interpretations.
A common misunderstanding
Neither node demonstrates past lives or a fixed future. Familiar patterns and growth directions are reflective interpretations.
BRING IT BACK TO YOUR LIFE
A question to sit with
What familiar response is helpful now, and what new response could you try without rejecting that experience?

Read both ends together
In Western astrology, the North Node represents capacities you can practice and grow into. The South Node represents familiar skills and habitual responses. Neither is good or bad: bring the useful skill from the familiar end into the new direction. This is a symbolic reflection, not evidence of destiny, past lives, or a prediction.
Sign and house
The sign describes how the theme is expressed; the house describes an area of life in which to explore it. A North Node in Aries, for example, can prompt reflection on direct self-expression while its Libra South Node invites keeping cooperation without automatically deferring. House placement depends on your birth time, location, and house system. If the time is uncertain, treat the house interpretation as uncertain too.
True and mean nodes
The Western personal chart uses Swiss Ephemeris True North Node, the instantaneous crossing, and calculates the South Node exactly opposite. A mean node smooths the motion, so another chart can show a different degree or even a different sign near a boundary. Compare the same node method and zodiac before comparing results.
Rahu and Ketu
In the Vedic chart the ascending and descending nodes are called Rahu and Ketu. That view follows your separate mean/true node and ayanamsha settings. Their interpretation belongs to the Vedic tradition; the Western labels do not replace its reading.
Find them on your wheel
Look for (North Node) and (South Node). Tap either point on your wheel or in Your lunar nodes for its placement reading. New personal charts include both. If you previously saved a different selection, open Customize chart and enable True North Node and South Node under Lunar points. Your selected nodes stay visible even at Essential detail.
