Go deeper: the full reference
Upright meaning
The Lovers connects relationship with the choices that express your values. Look for honest agreement between what you want, what you say and how you treat the people involved.
Reversed meaning
Attraction, loyalty and personal values may be pulling in different directions. Name the conflict openly rather than expecting a connection to resolve an avoided decision for you.
Read it in a spread
In Situation, ask where alignment is visible now. In Tension, examine its limits or a competing need rather than treating the card as a negative verdict. In Next step, choose a small response using The Lovers as a prompt. The position changes the question; it does not make the card a prediction.
A question to sit with
What choice would bring your actions closer to your stated values?
