Graha drishti
Drishti describes traditional planetary sight and is not the same calculation as a Western degree-based aspect.
Foundational rule set
The current Parashari view gives each classical graha a 7th-sign drishti. Mars additionally casts 4th- and 8th-sign drishti, Jupiter 5th and 9th, and Saturn 3rd and 10th.
A directional relationship
A drishti is cast from a source graha toward a target. The number is counted by whole signs from the source and is not automatically the same as the target’s natal Bhava number.
Disclosed limits
Schools differ on node aspects and other extensions. Synastry does not invent Rahu or Ketu source drishti when that policy has not been selected and reviewed.
