ASTROCARTOGRAPHY
Astrocartography, relocated charts and transits
Different location techniques are related ways of asking questions, but one output cannot substitute for another calculation.
The idea in context
A natal angular map, a relocated chart and a transit chart ask different questions and need their own calculations.
MAKE IT CONCRETE
An example to picture
A Venus MC line near a city does not by itself supply the twelve house cusps of a relocated chart or a date when a current transit will occur.
How to read it
Check the named calculation, its time reference and the fields actually supplied before applying an interpretation.
A common misunderstanding
Selecting planet-and-angle lines changes the web display, not the birth sky. It does not create a city-distance result, a relocated chart or a current-transit calculation.
BRING IT BACK TO YOUR LIFE
A question to sit with
Which calculation would be needed to answer the specific question you are asking?
Go deeper: the full reference
The natal angular map
The web map uses the recorded birth instant to plot 40 planet-and-angle line families worldwide. Selecting bodies and angles changes which lines are visible, not the birth instant or the current sky. In the separate native proximity model, changing a reference place changes its distance reading while retaining the same birth instant. The web map supplies no city-distance calculator.
A relocated chart
A relocated chart uses the same birth instant with a different geographic viewpoint to calculate local angles and houses. Listing a nearby map line is not a complete relocated chart. The source angular-map calculation does not calculate relocation houses, so they should not be inferred from a line label.
Current transits and other techniques
A transit calculation uses a specified observation time in relation to a natal reference. Parans, local-space maps and other location techniques have their own definitions and required data. A map interface should claim one only when its separate calculation is actually provided, rather than borrowing its name for an apparent crossing.
Stay within the displayed result
The guide explains the web map’s angular lines and, separately, the native proximity method. Distance-band examples are educational and are not personal web results. No relocated-house, paran, predictive or destination-scoring calculation should be inferred from the displayed lines.
Try reading a chart
Find the same symbol in your chart or a public profile. Compare the displayed positions with the lesson, and keep the recorded birth-time confidence in mind.

What an astrocartography map shows
An astrocartography map places the birth sky on a world map by marking where each supported body meets one of four angular conditions at the recorded birth instant.

Several lines near one place offer several symbolic questions. Their meanings do not automatically add up to a single score.
2 min readUse the map as a question, not a destination verdict
Astrocartography can organize reflection about a place, while decisions about living or traveling depend on real conditions and personal circumstances.

An AC line marks the locations where a body meets the eastern side of the modeled horizon at the recorded birth instant.
