Compounds, roots, and reduction
A source total can retain context even when its digits reduce to a one-digit root.
Reduction path
Reduction adds the digits of a total until it reaches a single digit, except where a supported method preserves a master number. A notation such as 21/3 shows both the compound total and its reduced root.
Why both values are shown
The root supplies the broad number family. The compound preserves how that root was reached. Chaldean compounds receive a specific reading only when the exact total is present in the app’s bounded 10–99 catalog.
