Upright meaning
Temperance looks for a workable relationship between needs that seem opposed. Small adjustments, measured pacing and patient integration can create a balance that extremes cannot.
Reversed meaning
One part of your life may be compensating for another until the arrangement no longer fits. Reduce the excess and experiment with a rhythm you can sustain, rather than demanding perfect balance.
Read it in a spread
In Situation, ask where integration is visible now. In Tension, examine its limits or a competing need rather than treating the card as a negative verdict. In Next step, choose a small response using Temperance as a prompt. The position changes the question; it does not make the card a prediction.
A question to sit with
Which two needs could be integrated instead of treated as opposites?
