Mahadasha, Antardasha, and subperiods

Nested dasha levels layer broad and fine timing rulers rather than replacing the natal chart.

Nested periods

Mahadasha is the major period; Antardasha is a subperiod. Some practitioners continue into Pratyantardasha and finer levels. Each subdivision follows a defined proportional rule.

Avoid false precision

More levels do not automatically produce more certainty. A displayed date must retain the exact ephemeris input and calculation policy used to derive it.
