How graha placements are read

A graha names the chart function being interpreted; its Rashi, Bhava, nakshatra, pada, condition, and relationships add context.

Classical scope

The classical navagraha framework includes Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu. Rahu and Ketu are calculated lunar nodes, not physical planets.

Modern adjuncts

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are displayed at verified sidereal positions but are clearly marked as modern adjuncts. Synastry does not give them classical rulership, dignity, dasha, or graha-drishti status.
