The geometry
MC stands for Midheaven. The local meridian is the north–south reference through an observer’s sky. On the MC line, the body is at upper meridian passage in this model. This is not the same as saying the body is directly overhead: that depends on latitude and declination. The meridian family forms a geographic longitude line in the world map.
The reading context
MC symbolism concerns visible contribution, public roles, vocation and responsibility. The body suggests a question within that context. Jupiter MC may invite reflection on teaching or a wider perspective; Saturn MC may invite reflection on durable commitments and realistic limits.
