ASTROCARTOGRAPHY
Combine a planet with an angle
Treat the body as the theme and the angle as the setting in which you ask about that theme.
The idea in context
The planetary theme and angular context do different jobs. Read them together before assigning meaning to a line.
MAKE IT CONCRETE
An example to picture
For Venus MC, ask how values and reciprocity shape a visible contribution. For Venus IC, ask how enjoyment and shared values shape a private base.
How to read it
Build a sentence about a concrete situation, then turn it into a question that can be checked against experience.
A common misunderstanding
No planet is a universal good-place or bad-place label, and a line does not guarantee its traditional associations.
BRING IT BACK TO YOUR LIFE
A question to sit with
How does changing the angle change the question you would ask about the same planet?

Purpose, care and exchange
The Sun supplies themes of purpose and visible expression; the Moon feeling, habits and belonging; Mercury learning and communication; Venus values, enjoyment and reciprocity; Mars action and assertion. These are symbolic functions rather than measured traits. Each combines differently with presence on AC, encounter on DC, contribution on MC or home on IC.
Growth, structure and change
Jupiter supplies themes of learning and expansion; Saturn responsibility and boundaries; Uranus experimentation and revision; Neptune imagination and ideals; Pluto power, agency and consequential change. A theme is not inherently beneficial or harmful. Its usefulness depends on the question, the full chart and actual circumstances.
Change the question with the angle
A Mercury MC line may frame how a person communicates in a public role. Mercury IC may frame how conversation or study fits into private routines. This change of context is more useful than assigning one generic label such as a good Mercury place to both lines.
Read the natal context
The line does not create a new planet or erase its relationships in the birth chart. Return to the planet’s actual natal placement and aspects when developing a fuller reading. A location summary is one layer rather than a replacement for the chart.
Try reading a chart
Find the same symbol in your chart or a public profile. Compare the displayed positions with the lesson, and keep the recorded birth-time confidence in mind.
Connect the ideas
AC lines: presence and beginnings
An AC line marks the locations where a body meets the eastern side of the modeled horizon at the recorded birth instant.

A DC line marks the locations where a body meets the western side of the modeled horizon at the recorded birth instant.

An MC line marks upper meridian transit for a body at the recorded birth instant.
